When the subject of the forthcoming North Korean missile launch came up, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the following on FOX News last weekend: "America is not prepared to do anything about it." What? At least the Japanese promise to blow the damned thing out of the sky if it nears the Japanese homeland. I wonder if Gates would be "not prepared to do anything about it" if the rogue nation's inter ballistic missile were headed straight for Los Angeles.
This brilliant reflection of American weakness should hearten our many enemies in the world.
On a different front, the Hildabeast, our Secretary of State, has suggested "talks" with the murderous Taliban, at the same time she's warning of big cuts in our own defense budget. Closely following this cheery news, the Taliban announced a nasty surprise might be in the works for Washington D.C. Do you suppose these things might be connected? Naw.

Actor and the "official ambassador for Earth Hour" Edward Norton says we should all turn off our lights on Earth Hour, Saturday, March 28. He equates the symbolic turning off of lights for an hour on Saturday to Selma, the Civil Rights event marked by violent attacks on its marchers. Fear of global warming it seems is not only politically correct but those abusing the silly notion might be raaacccisst!
To Edward, I say: "Shut off your own lights, you enviro lunatic!"
Moreover, morons in Sacramento are thinking of banning the color black for California automobiles! More insane fears of global warming.
And now comes President Obama to assure that us that he will eventually be able to place "monitors" in all our homes in order for the government to better regulate when we AMERICAN CITIZENS should turn our lights on or off. Pardon me, your worship, but we already have such "monitors," they're called thermostats. Perhaps you'll soon disclose your plan for when we can wipe our asses in sync.

MOB RULE!
Yesterday 85 REPUBLICANS joined the Dunce's shameless Democrat-run Congress in seeking out individual American citizens for ex-poste facto punishment for the legitimate bonuses that were authorized by these same spineless congressmen!
We now have legally sanctioned mob rule!
I point out in particular two alleged California conservatives who joined Madame LeFarge and our modern day Robespierre's in sending to Madam Guillotine people whose only crime was to accept previously contracted bonus payments from their employer. Tom McClintock and Dana Rohrabacher have listened to the mob and have thrown to the unreflecting rabble these innocent victims, some of whom are now being threatened by the mob in their own communities.
This is a dark day in America, for it reflects the almost complete social and cultural breakdown of a once civilized society. We saw a similar collapse of public decency in pre-WWII Germany.
The wooden-wheeled tumbrel may now be requisitioned by cowardly politicians against whomever they choose, on whatever trumped up public outrage is convenient for their personal vendettas.

GIVE BACK YOUR AIG PAYMENTS OBAMA, DODD & BARNEY!
The loud-mouthed rabble-rousers in the public now threatening to hang AIG execs from the rafters with piano wire, an old NAZI punishment, have stupidly missed the point in their combined glee and rage to punish SOMEONE for the AIG bailout mess. As usual, the mob is unreflecting and hair-trigger stupid as mobs often are. No, the real culprits in the bailout scandal are actually some of the same people now sitting in judgement. If you want to give the truly responsible perps a good rump-kicking, look no further than Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, who I think should be wearing orange jumpsuits about now. Also ripe for the pillory and stocks are Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic and a whole bunch of other overly educated scoundrels who benefited greatly from their tenures at Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac--Democrats all, of course.
Moreover, President Obama received oodles in cash donations from AIG, yet I don't hear the press calling for his haloed head. And I wonder why not?

CHENEY SAYS OBAMA POLICIES MAKING US LESS SAFE. IS HE RIGHT?
Russia's Medvedev has just announced a huge rearmament effort.
President Obama, our teleprompter junkie, has countered this threat by oft expressing his desire for America to reduce it's own defense spending. He is following through with this policy too, for the Boston Globe reports today about America's plans for a military reduction and the scrapping of new weapons, to wit:
"Two defense officials who were not authorized to speak publicly said {Defense Secretary}Gates will announce up to a half-dozen major weapons cancellations later this month. Candidates include a new Navy destroyer, the Air Force's F-22 fighter jet, and Army ground-combat vehicles, the officials' said. More cuts are planned for later this year after a review that could lead to reductions in programs such as aircraft carriers and nuclear arms, the officials said."
Is this a wise policy? With North Korea ready to launch a new long range missile, with Iran a year or so short of achieving its goal of obtaining a nuclear weapon, with Islamic fanatics on the rise inside and outside our nation, with Mexico falling apart, with China balking at taking any more of our toxic debt and also building up its military, in this dangerous world, Obama is calling for America to cut its military budget presumably so he can lavish that money on the AIG bunch and the vast underclass which forms his true constituency.
That said, is Cheney thus right in saying Obama's policies will make us less safe?

MEGHAN MCCAIN, HER FATHER'S DAUGHTER
In my opinion, both McCains have bashed Republicans for their own personal ends. The father, in order to ingratiate himself with the media left-wing slobberers so as to gain attention and a positive press. This to better facilitate his run at the Republican nomination. It worked. The MSM had loved him earlier when he'd repeatedly undermined President Bush and often joined hands across the aisle with Harry Reid. Then later they viewed him favorably when he sought their help for his presidential run. It all came to naught, of course, when the media deserted him enmass to join collective hands with the One.
Meghan, seeing this play out, and perhaps in order to jump start her writing enterprises and blog, has similarly turned on noted conservative writer Ann Coulter, undoubtedly knowing it will bring her aclaim and notice from the same media that enabled her papa.
Will Meghan's attempt to denigrate Coulter bring McCain's daughter the fame and fortune she craves? I have a sense that it just might do that.

OBAMA'S NEW GREEN JOBS CZAR
Green "activist" Van Jones has been selected as our newly destitute nation's Green Jobs Czar.
Now that's really great news, isn't it? We thought arch leftist Carol Browner was a frightening selection as EPA head, knowing her singular socialist tendencies, but this choice of Minnesota's Mr. Jones should scare hell out of anybody who fears global warming kooks slipping behind the wheel of America's once proud energy bus.
Only the Sierra Club and other big eco-freak, leftist contributors to the mass global warming delusion can be happy with this zealot's ascension to into Obamaland.
I hear the EPA is already going after dust raised by farmers tilling their land. Seems dust contains "harmful elements." What's next, no more farming? Hey, no more food. Thanks a lot, you environmental fruitcakes.
